MaryBeth Kupiec

North Tonawanda native Brandon Kupiec was an avid blood donor since the age of 16. This past summer, at the age of 20, he died suddenly in his sleep. Brandon was an inspiration to many, especially his own mother, who began donating after she saw her son donate blood.
To keep his memory alive, and to honor his selfless act of regular blood donation, his family hosted a blood drive in his name at DeGraff Hospital just weeks after losing Brandon.
His mother, Manager of Volunteer Services at DeGraff says, "He is the reason I began donating and the reason I will forever continue."
The community responded to the drive with an outpouring of support for the Kupiec family, and in turn, the blood drive was the hospitals’ most successful to date.
Unyts thanks the Kupiec family, DeGraff Memorial and the entire North Tonawanda community!
