Legislative Agenda

Please take the time to contact your Legislators and express why  passing legislation to support the organ, eye, tissue and blood communities are important issues for you.  Please reference the Unyts Legislative Agenda for specific legislation information.  The agenda includes, legislation to update the New York State Anatomical Gift Act; legislation to educate high school students about organ and tissue donation; legislation to allow taxpayers to donate $1 to the Life Pass It On Trust Fund through the State Income Tax form; and legislation to create the New York State Organ Donor Awareness and Education Act.

Contact Your Legislators

ASSEMBLY

Step One:
Click on the link above and  then click on your assembly member’s  name.  If you do not know the name, click on this link to find out your member’s name by entering your address. Once you have the name, go back to the link at the top of the page and click on your assembly member’s name.

Step Two:
Your assembly member’s home page comes up with many choices along the left navigation, including biography and news.  Click on the Contact link at the bottom of the left navigation.

Step Three:
If there is a contact form, please complete this and add a personal message including why  passing legislation to support the organ, eye, tissue and blood communities are important issues for you. When finished, click on the “Send Message” button.  If there is no online form, then please send an email with your comments to your assembly member at email listed on the page.

SENATE

Step One:
In the upper left, see “Find My Senator”. Type in your street address and zip code and click on “Search.”

Step Two:
Your senator comes up with his or her name, picture, district and a contact form.

Step Three:
Complete the contact form by filling out your own name and contact information and then typing in a personal message. Be sure to include why passing legislation to support the organ, eye, tissue and blood communities are important issues for you.  When you are finished with your message,  click on the “Send e-mail” button.
