2nd Annual “Donate Life” Walk
The Donate Life Walk will honor and celebrate all donors, recipients, their families and friends and educate, engage and inspire about the need for and lifesaving benefits of organ, eye, tissue and blood donation.
WHAT: A 1.78 mile walk around Delaware Park, along with a memorial planting in the “Donate Life” Memorial Grove in honor of lost loved ones. There will be a picnic lunch reception for all of our guests, kids activities, crafts, music and more! FREE to all who attend. Over 500 registered walkers already! Sabres Alum Danny Gare will be signing autographs!
WHERE: Delaware Park, Parkside Lodge (off the 198 & Parkside) RAIN or SHINE
WHEN: Saturday, September 8th from 10AM-2PM
*walk will begin around 10:30
Donor families will plant shrubs and perennials around the “Donate Life” memorial grove. The grove is a sanctuary and place of reflection for donor families, donors, recipients and all supporters of the Gift of Life.
Look for the 40-foot Unyts “Donate Life” Express Bus, which has the ability to collect whole blood, double-red cells and platelets and can accommodate up to 50 donors per blood drive. With this bus, Unyts collects an estimated 4,000 additional units of blood per year for Western New York residents.
